How to do it:
- pre-cook spaghetti
(the thicker the kind of spaghetti the better) until just limp
- you don’t want it too soggy or it won’t work! (adding a tablespoon
of cooking oil to boiling water helps keep spaghetti from lumping
together while cooking)
- quickly remove from hot water and
rinse in cold water
- when spaghetti is cool enough to
work with, let children grab handfuls of it and dip it into ice cream
buckets of premixed tempera paint
- children then place paint-saturated
spaghetti onto sheet of finger-painting paper (paper that’s glossy
on one side) and proceed to ‘paint’ with it by dragging it around,
swirling it, trailing it, etc.
- vary colors - remove spaghetti from
paper when desired image has been achieved
- label and dry flat
