Spatter Painting
Colors, Numbers and Shapes
How to do it:
cut out shapes for
silhouettes from cardboard (ie. chip box or cereal box or old file folder)
arrange shapes on a pieces of paper
using a nail brush (or an old tooth brush)
and an old large-sized comb (or a piece of plastic craft mesh used in needle
work), dip brush into paint and proceed to rub it back and forth over comb
so that paint "spatters" over silhouettes and onto background
paper leaving an outline of the silhouette when shape is moved
use different colors, shapes, move shapes
around paper to create interesting overlays
WASH brushes in warm sudsy water immediately
after use
dry in a bucket with bristles up in air
to prevent bending of brushes
