You will need:
assorted shapes
cut from colored paper
white glue or
glue sticks
crayons to decorate
a background sheet
of paper for each child
What to do:
encourage children
to use the shapes to create interesting pictures
suggest such things
as trucks, people, cars, buildings, etc.
you may need to
give younger children a specific item to make from the shapes and to show
them how to use the shapes to create different things (ie. two small
circles may become the wheels of a car from a side view, a rectangle may
make the body of the car, etc.)
allow children
to play with the shapes for awhile before deciding on one thing to make
and glue onto their paper
label work
clean up
- this activity
could also be done with shapes cut from felt and placed on a piece of
flannel fabric to create a picture that can easily be changed again and
again.
