a background ‘house’ shape for each child (older children
may enjoy cutting this out for themselves)
children’s craft scissors
white glue or glue sticks
assorted family magazines with pictures of people in them
crayons
What to do:
encourage children to think about who is in their own family
and to then make a picture of how many people are in their family
on their background house (ie. a mommy, a daddy, a grandma, a
grandpa, an aunt, uncle, girlfriend, boyfriend, a baby, me, etc.)
N.B. Many different family structures exist nowadays - all forms of a
family unit need to be accepted and not criticized - they are depicting
their family as they see it.
