What to do:
- tell children
they are going to play a guessing game
- you will be
telling them the color of something you can see in the nearby vicinity
(ie.
the room or near to or within the play space)
- then pick
something and say, "I spy with my little eye, something that
is ...(green)"
- let the children
take turns guessing what they think it is
- when they
guess right, choose another item and play again
Variation:
- as the children
get used to the idea of the game, encourage them to become the leader
if they guess correctly
- children often
change their ‘thing’ mid-way through the guessing so it might help
if they have to whisper to you what it is they picked and then you
don’t play, you just make sure that when it is correctly guessed by
another child, they trade places
