You will need:
- a set of pre-cut
shapes
- a box to store
game in
What to do:
- using colored
paper or stiff paper (ie.
lightweight cardboard)
cut out assorted shapes of squares, triangles, circles and rectangles
- then cut each
of the shapes in half by making it into a puzzle piece (ie.
see illustrations)
- children must
match the puzzle plieces together to form a recognizable shape
- if a lot of
pieces makeup this game, have children work in pairs or in small groups
as verbalizing the shapes and puzzle pieces strengthens the concept
of circle, square, rectangle, etc. in their minds
