You will need:
- a large-sized
play space
- a roll of masking
tape or chalk
What to do:
- pre-mask or
draw large shapes on the floor
(ie. circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, irregular shapes)
- discuss shapes
with children
- talk about
how they could form these shapes with their bodies
- encourage
children to work in small groups to form the shapes
- assign each
group a shape to make and then rotate when they have completed the
shape
Variation:
- have smaller
shapes on the floor and encourage one child to form their own body
into one of them (ie.
how could you form your body to make a circle, a square, etc.)
