You will need:
- a paper lunch
bag for each child
- about 10
to 12 cotton balls for each child
- red construction
paper cut into triangles for Santa's hat
- crayons or
waterbased markers
- white glue
- glitter for
Santa's cheeks (optional)
What to do:
- orient bag
so that the folded base area is on top (this
allows for a 'mouth' when the child places his/her hand inside the
bag to operate the puppet)
- glue on the
triangle hat near the top of the bag while it's folded shut
- draw on eyes,
nose, mouth with top of Santa's lips on edge of base fold and the
bottom lip underneath
- glue on pulled
apart cotton balls for moustache, beard, eye brows, and hat
- tell children
to be careful not to glue cotton over mouth part or Santa won't be
able to "ho ho ho!"
- put glitter
on Santa's cheeks if you like (or
use course pickling salt instead)
- label work
- clean up
