You will need:
- a ball of
playdough for each child (the size of a tennis ball)
- assorted utensils
for sculpting (ie. popsicle sticks, etc.)
- a pencil
What to do:
- encourage
children to create a dinosaur using their playdough
- warm playdough
by squeezing in hands
- show children
how to roll a ball shape
- demonstrate
how to make a ‘snake’ shape with playdough
- show children
how to blend their playdough parts together for strength and smoothness
- younger children
will tend to build 2-dimensional or flat shapes on the table surface
(like a picture)
- older children
will be able to create a 3-dimensional shape
- playdough
may be left to dry for a few days if desired
- scratch each
child’s initials in the playdough using the pencil before allowing
to dry
- clean up
