You will need:
- a play sand table
with play sand
- a wooden puzzle
of a dinosaur
- old paint brushes
(to brush
away sand)
What to do:
- tell
children that they are going to be paeleontologists
(people who look for dinosaur remains)

discuss how careful they have to be using soft brushes and being careful
not to break anything

pre-hide puzzle parts in the sand table

encourage children to work together (3 or 4)
to dig up and brush off the dinosaur puzzle parts

children add the puzzle parts to the frame as they go

let children re-hide puzzle parts for next group of children
