Pumpkin Mask
(paper
plate)

You will need:
- one yellow
paper plate for each child
- elastic thread
(available at fabric stores)
- a stapler
and staples
- an exacto
knife or cutter knife
- assorted pieces
of black construction paper
- children's
scissors
- white glue
What to do:
- pre-cut out
the eye-holes of the mask using an exacto or cutter knife (Adults
only Please)
- pre-staple
the elastic thread onto each side of the paper plate as well as stapling
a strand at the top of the plate and then tying it into the centre
of the cross thread to prevent mask from slipping down over the child's
face (see illustration)
- tie small
knots in the ends of the elastic to prevent it from pulling through
the staples
- pass out 'masks'
and black paper scraps
- encourage
children to use their scissors and cut out shapes from their black
paper to make a scary pumpkin mask!
- glue shapes
onto 'mask plates'
- additional
decorating may be done with crayons
- label mask
- clean up
