You will need:
- sheets of red,
pink, purple and white construction paper
- children's craft
scissors
- white glue
- assorted heart
stickers, doilies, yarn, dyed
macaroni, etc.
What to do:
- show children
how to fold their paper into a card (in half
long ways or 'hot dog style' or in half from top to bottom or 'hamburger
style')
- encourage them
to look at their card as if it were a book and then lay it down in front
of themselves the right way up (many yong children make their cards
backwards no matter what!) It is important not to dwell on this too
much - after all, it really is the thought that counts!
- encourage children
to decorate their Valentine cards using the available items
- help children
to print inside their cards if necessary (four, five and six year
olds may want you to print the words on another piece of paper for them
to copy - REMEMBER to print using capital letter only at the beginning
of a name; the rest of the name should be in lower case or small letters)
- clean up
