You will need:
- medium-sized
cardboard box for each child
- an exacto or
cutter knife (ADULT ONLY PLEASE)
- crayons
- water-based
markers
- masking tape
(or clear packing tape)
What to do:
- using the
exacto or cutter knife, pre-cut off the flaps from the top of the
box (ADULT
ONLY PLEASE)
- cut a hole
into the bottom of the box large enough for a child to stand inside
the box and pull up around his/her waist
- apply masking
tape wherever necessary so as to reinforce the hole in the box
(or use clear packing tape)
- encourage
children to use their crayons, water-baased markers, paints and anything
else they would like to apply to their box to make their own car or
truck (ie. small aluminum foil pie plates make great head lights,
margarine lids for wheels, etc.)
- label cars
if necessary
- clean up
- let children
practise ‘driving’ their cars/trucks around
