You will need:
- a large-sized
play space with a circle masked out in the middle
- masking tape
or milk
carton blocks for creating rooms
- several cardboard
signs saying EXIT on them
What to do:
- mark out 3
or 4 rooms on the floor and name them
(ie. theatre, shopping mall, grocery store, bank, daycare, etc.)
and place a characteristic item inside each room to help children
remember which room was which - ie. a loaf of bread, a bag of popcorn,
etc.
- leave openings
for the doorways and exits
- place EXIT
signs next to all exits
- start children
in a tight circle in the middle of the room
- call out a
place to go to (ie.
the theatre)
- children WALK
quickly to appropriate room
- then yell,
"EXIT" - all children must WALK
through ‘exits’ and return to the circle and wait for leader to call
next room to visit!
