You will need:
- two paper
plates for each child
- stapler and
staples
- a darning
needle
- two pipe cleaners
for each child
- crayons or
water-based markers
- white glue
- assorted ‘things’
to glue onto the saucer for decorations and lights (ie. corn,
sunflower seeds, buttons, etc.)
What to do:
- pre-staple
the paper plates together to form the flying saucer shape
- pre-poke two
holes using the darning needle into one of the plates so that children
may later insert their ‘pipe-cleaner’ antennaee
- explain to
the childrren that they are going to make their own flying saucers
using the pipe cleaners as antennae and the assorted things to decorate
their saucers
- they may like
to draw on windows, lights, etc. using their crayons or markers
- label work
- clean up
